VoxANN

Founders: David Bilsborough, Daniel Bottomley, Tom Crompton & Robin Tong

Industry/sector: Language Technology / B2B SaaS

Key product/service: Localisation Production Platform

Website: voxann.com

The Challenge

VoxANN set out to solve a massive global issue: 94% of the world’s population are non-native English speakers, and 75% don’t speak English at all. To bridge this gap, content needs to be localised, but traditional localisation workflows are inefficient, costly, and slow. VoxANN’s mission is to streamline these processes, making inclusive, multilingual content accessible at scale.

Before joining the Exchange Programme, the founding team faced typical early-stage challenges. They needed clarity on team strengths, a refined investor proposition, and a better understanding of how to grow a tech start-up with limited resources.

Why Exchange?

VoxANN chose Exchange after hearing great reviews from alumni. The tech-focused, founder-led community stood out, as did the collaborative environment. What truly made a difference was the exposure to a network of peers, partners, and professionals, creating lasting value for the business and the team.

The Experience

Group coaching proved to be a game-changer. These sessions sparked honest, transformative conversations that extended beyond the room. Workshops led by experts, including some that challenged long-held assumptions, helped shape smarter decisions. Partner introductions and targeted support added structure and strategy at a crucial time in VoxANN’s journey.

Key Outcomes

  • Onboarded all co-founders as equity holders.

  • Piloted and deployed the alpha version of their product.

  • Launched a private beta with nine UK B2B companies.

  • Developed and successfully executed a go-to-market strategy.

  • Completed SEIS advanced assurance and investor documentation.

  • Initiated early investor outreach with strong results.

  • Secured an experienced developer.

  • Wrapped a successful Turing Innovation Catalyst AI project.

  • Received a £12,500 Innovation Navigator Grant.

The Impact

Since completing the programme, VoxANN has raised £100,000 from friends, family, and founders, completed initial due diligence with two pre-seed VCs, and significantly expanded their professional network. Internally, the team has strengthened alignment, sharpened their investor pitch, and gained the clarity needed to manage time and priorities more effectively.

They’ve launched a private beta with UK B2B companies and are preparing to go commercial imminently. With a team of four co-founders, they’re adding a developer and a business development manager/NED. A pre-seed round is set to open in Summer 2025, targeting £1M+ following initial revenue traction.
